We have two dogs that share our home (or rather we share theirs). Lucy and Charlie.

We're sorry to say that our cat of eleven years, Snowball passed away September 11, 2007. Lisa wrote this
very touching obituary for her. She is terribly missed by all of us.

Snowball Berg entered this world in 1996 in a boat near Cannon Lake, Faribault, MN. Snowball's mother went hunting for food
for her new kittens and unfortunately, the owner of the boat moved the boat before the mother cat returned.

She was rescued by our friend Pat Rice. Pat's cat had given birth to kittens and took Snowball
under her wing. We took her in and named her for Lisa Simpson's cat, Snowball Two.

Snowball loved sneaking outside to look at birds and eating Kentucky Fried Chicken. She felt
our home was her domain and didn't always appreciate people invading her territory Over the last few months
she spent most of her time in her chair sitting on her favorite cushion. She had begun to lose weight and was not
eating her normal voracious appetite. The vet determined she had a tumor near her heart. We are planning to
spread her ashes at the cabin; where there are lots of birds to keep her spirit busy.

Snowball and Lucy

Lucy came to us a year after Snowball. She's a pure-bred Jack Russell Terrier.
Lisa had wanted a Jack Russell for years, when her dad met a woman on a trail ride
that bred them in Grand Rapids, MN. She had one puppy left, and so Lucy became ours.

Lucy is very...umm...energetic. She can jump about four feet high and loves to
race around the house. She's intensely loyal to Lisa, but loves most everyone
(unless you're walking a dog past our house) and craves constant human contact.
Unlike Snowball who didn't like most people, she hates it when people leave the house and barks until
they're out of sight.

As a puppy, she had a nasty habit of peeing on visitors shoes with excitement, and
that resulted in our band shoot lucy being named in her honor when Steve The Drummer

felt that would be a good way to cure that habit. Fortunately, we didn't take his advice.

Charlie is the newest member of the crew here! He's a Rat Terrier, We adopted him from the Humane Society
of Hennepin County in January of 2006 at the age of two. We decided to get another dog after seeing a story
on the news about 156 dogs being rescued from a horrible puppy mill in S. Minnesota. Our intent was
to get a puppy, but after three trips to the shelter with no luck finding a dog (small dogs get adopted within minutes),
we found him. He wasn't a puppy, he wasn't from the bad breeding operation, but he was brought in
by some people who didn't take care of him. He was small and underweight, but very friendly. We took him home
that day, and I never imagined I'd see the day when another dog made Lucy look slow and inactive, but he does!
Charlie is named for Charlie Brown (the third pet I've had named for a Peanuts character, and the fourth for a
cartoon character in general) and is a lot of fun to have around - he loves everyone and is extremely nice.
